Upcoming Photography Workshops

2009 / 2010 Summer Series

Creative Photo Workshops are delighted to announce our Summer Series of Workshops.

These four hour evening events are designed to teach a specific style of photo rather than the basic principles of photography.

We will be covering a wide range of photographic styles that will give you a whole range of new skills and develop your range as a photographer.

From abandoned homesteads shoots to being hip deep in Port Philip Bay we will be covering a wide range of natural light and wireless flash scenarios.

This series is limited to 10 people only and you can choose to either come to just one or buy the discounted Series Pass.

If we have enough people wanting to attend we will attempt to put on a second series to accommodate everyone.

Each Workshop will feature 2 models and several instructors.

Cost $149.00 per event

Series Pass $699.00 for all 6 events.

Wednesday December 9th 6.00pm – 10.00pm

 Bikini Beach Shoot

Join the CPW team as we put together our own ‘Swimsuit Edition’ on the Beaches of Melbourne.

A lot of what makes a good bikini shoot is getting a pose that suits not only the light but also the environment. This Workshop will hone your skills in these two areas and give you a variety of shots using the same light source.

Wednesday January 13th 6.00pm – 10.00pm

Melbourne Laneways

Grungy, graffiti laden laneways are a feature of downtown Melbourne. This Workshop will teach you how to create edgy looking photos using creative metering in natural light.

As the sun sets we pull out or flashguns and create our own light creating a series of moody, grungy and teach you skills to allow you to recreate this look anywhere.

FULLY BOOKED

Wednesday January 20th 6.00pm – 10.00pm

Melbourne Photo Walk

Our Melbourne Photo Walk starts at the old GPO where we will be doing a series of shots taking advantage of the great shapes of this amazing building and will continue up through Chinatown shooting in Lanes and using Brick walls as props and backgrounds.  Our walk continues up and under the old Nauru house building on Exhibition Street where we will use the unique architecture our advantage and then on to our final stop of Parliament House – a popular Melbourne Wedding shoot location. This Workshop will concentrate on using your location, and its shapes and textures, to add impact to your images.

Wednesday January 27th 6.00pm – 10.00pm

Abandoned Homestead Shoot

An abandoned 1850’s bluestone cottage, rusty farm machinery and a model!

The ingredients for an amazing photo shoot opportunity!

CPW is renowned for finding great locations to shoot in and this one is no exception. 25 minutes from Melbourne, near Werribee and with city views this abandoned cottage is sure to give us some fantastic images. The inside of the cottage has some great architectural features to help us frame our models. This Workshop will cover a combination of natural light and wireless flash techniques.

Wednesday February 10th 6.00pm – 10.00pm

Emerging Nymph Shoot

This shoot will test your abilities and your nerve as we head hip deep into Port Phillip Bay and shoot our models into the setting sun.

With heavily stylised makeup and wild hair our models will be creating a series of dynamic poses that will give you some memorable photos that will set your photography apart from others.

This session will dramatically improve your skills in balancing ambient light with flash to create stunning images.

We will be getting wet but we will also be creating something special!

Wednesday March 10th 6.00pm – 10.00pm

Trash the Dress

We hit the water again in this session but this time it will be our Bride and Groom getting wet!!

A popular modern wedding shoot is to get Bride shots that you would never normally see in Wedding Photography. Rolling in sand, lying in water, splashing through waves – and this is the focus of this session. We will have our bride and groom kicking up a storm creating Wedding shots that ROCK!! Once again this Workshop will cover a range of natural light and Wireless flash techniques and reinforce your skills on balancing ambient light with natural light for amazing creative results.

Our final shoot in our Summer Series will produce some stunning images.
